USPS 2024 Planned Issues - First Group
Some interesting things I noted - New series begins for Priority and Express Mail based on images from the Webb Space Telescope. New series begins for low value denominations - flowers Some very nice designs shown - Shaker Design, Horses, Protect Sea Turtles New holiday stamp designs for Christmas Traditional, hannukah and Kwanzaa. Underground Railroad and First Continental Congress stamps - USPS does recognize history!

The high-value Webb telescope stamps are beautiful, I only wish they weren’t so pricey! I see lots of others that I am looking forward to making first day covers for - manatees, turtles, bluegrass, Bellow… The Underground Railroad set looks great too. And I am always happy to see a new Hanukkah stamp.

All of the 2024 issues announced thus far may be viewed here. Something else that may be happening in 2024 is implementation of the USPS' proposed rate changes. Below is a portion of the announcement.

The new rates that tomiseksj mentioned a few months ago went into effect today. Of note for collectors of modern USPS issues, or anyone who sends mail here, Forever stamps are now worth $0.68 each as postage; for items weighing more than one ounce, it’s still $0.24 per additional ounce. ($0.68, $0.92, $1.16, $1.40…) International letters start at $1.55. All the unused Forever stamps I have stockpiled just went slightly up in value, and so did all the ones I haven’t bought yet. Seems like that evens out!
