What I collect: US...everything until I decide what I don't want to collect! And now thanks to a TSF give-away I'm adding Space topicals!

Alrighty... I did a search and I cannot find what I am looking for. I am posting two examples. Scotts 3676-3679 of the Snowmen and 3670-3671 of Cats and Dogs.
If we look at the Snowmen, the plate position is second down left row. Serial number is V1111 with the colors being V-black 1-yellow 1-red 1-blue 1-black. It takes ten (10) se-tenants to make a full plate.
For the Cats and Dogs plate, it is top row far left. Serial is S11111. The colors are hard tto make out but appear to be S-white 1-red 1-yellow 1-blue 1-white 1=gray It takes six (6) se-tenants to make a full plate.
My question (and I may have answered it...at least....partially above) is if I wanted to collect a full plate of Cats and Dogs, do I just need to collect the different plate positions with the same serial numbers? I am guessing that would be the same for the Snowmen.
I've come across other serial numbers with either all "2"s or a combination of "1"s and "2"s. I'd just have to make sure to collect the same serial numbers...
Am I on the right track here? Mike

Nobody has any input on this? Or did I answer my own question?

Hummmmmmmmmmmmm! I have read your post several times and I have decided I am confused about what you are asking. Are attempting to collect corner plate blocks or whole sheets? Or are you asking if you kept the two top complete row is what you are collecting? I am no expert in much of this so maybe I am out of my depth.
When I order a full sheet from the Vault in KC, Mo I usually try to collect the four stamps which have the plate number on the border of the sheet. Maybe I am too cheap to buy a whole sheet and keep all of it. My Dad did that and I have a bunch of useless sheets from the 50's 60's. So when I started organizing is collection which is now mine I decided I would not do that and just collect what was something I thought would be collectable. The more expensive the sheets get the less of them I want to collect.
So, probably told you zip for your question as I don't think I really understood what you were asking.

Let me try to explain what I am attempting...and maybe it doesn't make any sense anyway...
You see that little block diagram on either of the full sheets? One block is greyed out showing its plate position. On the snowmen there are 9 other plate positions open. I want to collect all those plate positions as the full sheet shown and with the same serial number. So when I am done, I *should* have 10 sheets of snowmen each with a different block greyed out but with all the same serial numbers. And same with the Cats and Dogs except I would have 6 sheets with the same SN.
Am I understanding that plate position correctly?
WHY do I want to do this?
I guess the best answer is that I like the challenge of the chase. Mike

Taking the plating to its logical and ridiculous conclusion from what you say You could search out 10 snow men colour 11111 ,
Then have to find , 10 x 21111 , 10x 12111 …..10 x 22222. Or whatever combos exist.
That way madness lies! 🤪🤪🤪

This sounds like a good challenge.
I think I'll see if I can get one set of something.
I'll post an update if I have any luck. And I won't cheat by buying a set already done...not that I have seen anything like that in my travels.
