I have been hunting stamps from Chile and not having a lot of luck. I went to Mystic and they have nothing to talk about. Bombay Stamps I went to HIP and they did not have much. I went to Bo I looked in Stamp2goand found a few. After those three sites were duds, I was thinking someone here might have a favorite dealer.
Thanks
Nick

Thanks Nick Depending on which state you live in, Delcampe can be an option. Unfortunately earlier this years they cut access to users in about half the USA due to demands from these states that Delcampe, which is based in Belgium and has no physical USA presence, collect sales taxes for the states on any purchases made by inhabitants of those states on the Delcampe platform. Being a company of less than 50 enployees, Delcampe has so far decided it was less of a loss to cut access to Americans from those states than deal with cost in time and labor to deal with American bureaucracy. I live in Ohio, and my access was cut, and as Delcampe had been my preferred platform based on what I collect, my collecting has suffered quite a bit. But check delcampe, maybe you are in a state that still can purchase from the site. It does have over 32,000 Chilean items for sale. www.delcampe.net/en_US/collectibles/search?term=&categories%5B%5D=184&excluded_terms=&search_mode=all&order=price_asc&show_types=&payment_methods=&display_state=ongoing&show_types%5B%5D=fixed_price&show_types%5B%5D=bids_with_offer&show_types%5B%5D=bids_without_offer&show_types%5B%5D=auction_houses&duration_selection=all&started_days=0&ended_hours=&min_price=&max_price=&payment_methods%5B%5D=delcampe_pay&payment_methods%5B%5D=paypal&payment_methods%5B%5D=check&payment_methods%5B%5D=bank_transfer&payment_methods%5B%5D=cash&seller_localisation_choice=world&seller_localisation_continent=&seller_localisation_country=

Thanks for that. I will check it out. I have been messing around with Colnet. Man, that is a nightmare. The search option is really bad and every time I went to buy a stamp, I would get the message that the seller did not provide a picture. So you are buying blind! They show the picture from a catalog which are really nice but them try to buy it and you find the stamp has a killer postmark or "this seller has not provided a picture". No way a collector on a limited budget is going to fall for that. Really a time waster. Nick

Nick What problems specifically are you having with the search options (is the for the marketplace to buy stamps, or for searching the catalogue??)

nick2302Are you looking for used or mint stamps ? I can recommend Robstine stamps in UK www.robstine-stamps.comHe doesnt show pictures but I have had no problems with the quality of the stamps received. Delcampe is another source I have found useful, but used copies for the past 20 years or so are very hard to find. Good luck !! Anglobob

Nick Hello nick2302I sel at Colnect and you are right there is non or few images of the stamps for sale, and there is a reason:) I have more than 17000 'items' listed, items in this case is stamps. But on each 'item' I can have 1 or up to 20 stamps, selling one by one. That means I have possibly 150000 stamps listed. If I should scan crop and list each of them it would take a lot of time. (3 minutes pr. stamp will add up to 7500 hours!) Most of the stamps I list is penny worth. I have over two year as a seller on Colnect close to 800 sales, with more than 45000 stamps sold. But I totally understand that some want to see the stamp before thy purchase, but then don't expect the stamp to cost between 5-20% of catalog value, with all that work it is to scan, list and upload I want 50% of catalog value, and no one will pay that Colnect selling is based on rating and trust. There is no fee foe seller of customer, therefore the prices can be held at a minimum. * I don't have any Chile stamps listed (yet) Happy hunting, I also think Delcampe is the place to look .

I keep saying this if you use Stamps2go you would be amazed how friendly it is compared to these other sites. You scan the stamp on your scanner, and when you post you simply click, and it pastes into the form you are building for that stamp. I have hundreds of duplicate 99% MNH for sale on that site. Of all the other sites I have struggled with this site is really easy. The site has an excellent Web master who is very responsive to questions or resolving issues.
Expectations of sellers is sometimes off the charts. I have seen on Hip, and other sites some are asking for MORE THAN CATALOG!! How crazy is that? I have the latest and greatest pages from Scott's for the countries I am into so I can say these people who think their stamps are gold or something need to get a re-adjustment of their expectations for the bits of beautiful stamps they are trying to sell. Especially on Ebay.!!!! Don't even get me started on that site. It is the wild wild west and you never know what you are going to get if you buy from that site.
I also have used Bombay stamp site and while it is good it is expensive. So it is kind of like "you get what you paid for". It is a rich collectors site no matter how old the stamp is, or how long it has sat on that site they want full catalog. I sometimes wonder if they sell stamps that have not moved for years and years somewhere else.
The adventure of trying to acquire stamps has gotten way more complicated as shows are few and far between and the internet is the marketplace now. No more going to your favorite stamp store and sitting down and browsing from the dealer's books. I miss those days when you knew the dealer and they knew you. I know that sounds old fashioned but those were under appreciated times, at least by me. I guess I thought they would never totally disappear as they have done. COVID did not help at all. That was really the last nail in the coffin for stamp shops.
Nick
