I didn't find a suitable thread to post this stamp, so I am creating one dedicated to postal history as it is depicted on stamps. (We have a thread focusing on Postal Vehicles on Stamps.) This Austrian stamp issued in 1977 commemorates Emanuel Herrmann (1839 – 1902) who was considered the 'decisive last in an international line of inventors of the postal card'.
