You did not include Steiner. I have no idea on how to vote. The most consistent to me is Scott National but no experience with other European brands. My gripe on Scott is for a premium priced album the basic product is no more complete than other albums (spaces for varieties, etc,).

For me, Lighthouse has the best quality and classic album but I have to admit that White Ace is also very pretty and colorfull.

Slightly off topic from the poll question, but of the albums I’ve received when buying collections, Leuchturm aka Lighthouse albums have had the most mechanical failures by far. Mostly the posts come loose or the cover seams split and some older ones have yellowed plastic slip pages. Danish Stender (not on the poll list) hold up really well - at least the ones I’ve seen so far, and have nice page layouts IMHO.

I wasn't going to vote as I'm not familiar with printed albums these days as I print my own, but I thought I would give it a go so I googled a few of the contenders to see what they looked like. I started with the currently joint leader, White Ace. Oh dear, you have to be joking, that is gastly! An album should be for viewing stamps, so anything as awful as that background is a definite no no for me. The background should be in the background and inobtrusive, preferably without distracting colo(u)r (unless it's postal history with a story to tell). The I tried the Scott Minuteman where I felt very sorry for the text in those narrow boxes. They seemed to be prisoners screaming to get out That was enough, so based on my own experience, my SG, Lidner and KA-BE albums have all biten the dust but my Lighthouse ones go on and on after over 50 years and they do what an album shoud do, protect the stamps and allow for unrestrictive viewing of the stamps, not for anything else.

In my early years as a stamp collector, I used Davo pre-printed albums (peg fitting ones). But they became too boring for me, and I have been designing my own album pages for around 30 years.
I prefer spring back albums because they offer the most flexibility (even if they do have some disadvantages, such as the fact that the pages don't lie flat).
But with both peg fitting albums and multi ring albums, I am always dependent on the respective perforation for the album pages, and the album publishers price their own pages with their own perforation somewhat outrageously high in my opinion. I have bought several country collections in multi-ring albums, which I cannot use for my own additions, unless I allow myself the very expensive fun of buying the exact (blank) pages of the album publishers concerned.
I have had the best practical experience with Lighthouse spring back albums. In the meantime, I have had one single case of damage in around 40 albums. If I print A3 pages and shorten them by around 14 cm on the left-hand side, these sheets fit perfectly into a Lighthouse album. Other album publishers also have their own sheet formats, which are not so easily compatible with A3.

I just Googled White Ace album pages. Yikes. Definitely not my cup of tea.
And this from someone who takes a lot of crap for having "too many photos" and "too much text" on my album pages.

I noticed Steiner was absent also. But then, I don't think Steiner is going to get any awards for Prettiest Pages. Anyway, Palo uses Steiner don't they? Use them as a proxy for Steiner, if that's your vote.

I voted for White Ace as Prettiest, as the poll question said. But I don't think they are the most practical for my taste. I, too, don't like my stamps overwhelmed by large colorful headers, images , and text.

I don't have them, don't think they are practical for what I do, but I sure am drawn the Gibbons Imperial albums. There's part of me that dreams of splurging for a full set and do nothing but fill them up.
In my dreams, I'm wearing lots of tweed with elbow patches and there's a lovely lady who brings me tea and scones and tends to the fire. Lots of wood panelling, built in shelves, a dog lying beside the fire and a cat curled up on the guest armchair. When I'm done for the day, my trusty companion stops by for a meal and then we either play cards or head out and solve crimes. ✨
Alas, I'm firmly in the 'do your own write-up' category. If I were a person of means, I'd keep making my own pages but print them on some stunning, stiff-but-not-cardstock oversized paper and put them in custom binders. The biggest compromise I make is sticking to 8 1/2 x 11 paper.

I have had a lot of albums, and for a long time Lighthouse albums where my favorite. But they are not now, I make my own albums. But the the "Prettiest" albums are no doubt the old classical albums of various makes. But they are mostly very simplified compared to todays standard. But the layout and use of borders are sometimes beautiful. I have a set of Schaubek Normal Breifmarkenalbum Europa from 1942. The top, front and bottom of the pages have gold paint, so when the album is closed it looks like a gold bar. My plan is to fill them but they will not be my main albums as they are not detailed enough. And I have to use old hinges, not modern stamp mounts! These are not the prettiest albums I have seen, but prettier than most of the modern albums. What is unbelievable to think of was that they are made in Germany during the WWII, just that there was time to do stamp collecting at that time!

I presume the last voting option does not really mean “STINKING” albums . I’ve had a few smell of must, dust mould and tobacco ….so they are a no no !

The last option is a reference to a line from the movie "Sierra Madre".
"Badges, to g** d**d h*ll with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges...."

I'm with philatelia regarding Stender albums (offered for Scandinavia, only) as they are much more complete than anything else I've seen and are available in both standard and hingeless. Would be nice if the paper was the same weight as Lighthouse (I have a hingeless Iceland album). While the 2-post binders aren't "works of art," they do what they're supposed to do.

Thought I would confess to being the vote for Harris. I have a United States Classic album, not my first stamp album but I would say my first serious album. I was so happy to get it! So that might be one or the reasons I voted for it. The poll was for the prettiest, not the one I would use today. It has a classic look to it yet it is also sturdy and well made. I also have a couple Mystic albums, other Harris albums, a Scott album,a Lighthouse album as well as some very very old albums. Comparing what I have I think the Classic Harris album is the 'prettiest'. Some of the albums have no text visible when the stamps are mounted and then there is the Mystic albums with a verbose amount of text on the left page. The ones I have have the text left justified on the left page and it just looks unbalanced. I like the ideas presented in Andy Pastuszak 's thread on Descriptions on the Left, I will eventually incorporate some of those suggestions once I decide to mount my stamps in an album. Currently, I am using Vario sheets, There were some suggestions in that thread for descriptions on the left when using Vario/Hagner sheets as well I plan on using. Link to that thread - thestampforum.boards.net/thread/11229/descriptions-on-left .

In regards to the Stender albums, the "top" binders (called "superb)) are no longer being made, which is a bummer as I could use a few more! If anyone comes across one, I'd be interested! Thanks!
