I am a retired engineer living in Christchurch, New Zealand. I got back into working on my stamp collection in recent years. I started collecting stamps in childhood and later inherited some from my grandfather and father. I started with World stamps and then realised that was ridiculous so progressively reduced my scope to British Commonwealth, then New Zealand M/U then New Zealand pre-decimal M/U and early postmarks. Currently, I'm working on FFQ/Chalon varieties and obliterator postmarks.

G'day Grant & Welcome aboard NZ Chalons are right up our alley so you'll fit right in here. neilmac is also recently arrived and he too loves his Chalons. Also we have gc (Grant from Blenheim) active with Chalons, and occasionally a few others too. If you are into 'The Great Barrier Pigeongram' story then neilmac is giving us a lesson there also. Welcome to the forum and we look very much to seeing your collection. Dave

We may need to get you a better image of a FFQ with an obliterator #17 to replace the Auckland postmark on your picture! Here I scanned a couple for you. SG 15 and SG 16.
