What I collect: Oranges Philately, US Slogan Cancels, Cape of Good Hope Triangulars, and Texas poster stamps and cinderellas

These give me an interesting insight into the 1880s, and causes of death. These associatitons were an early form of obtaining life insurance.
I had hoped to paste these side by side but my Irfanview 64 was acting up as it often does when combining images.

So...... 2 differing Cork cancels, same date, for Springfield ! First time seen that!

rod222 . Thanks for the observation. One is 1878, the other 1879. JeffS..and thank you. I could only find the 1878, and thought the other may have been a mistake The 1879 (quite crisp impression) is not in my records

A moment of serendipity JeffS , only this morning I was reading about these postal cards,
The basic design of the 1c 1875 Liberty postal card, a left-facing Liberty head.
From an earlier TSF giveaway, I have an UX7 from the 1881 issue postmarked from Louisiana... ;-)
