What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Last night I reverted back to picking the big Senior Statesman album I bought a while ago. I was happy to find quite a few of the pre 1940 Lithuanian stamps I was missing. It is a country I do not pay much attention to but they had some attractive and interesting stamps. A stamp I already had was this one from the airmail set of 1933 commemorating the sad death of Captain Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas on their ill-fated New York to Kaunas flight of that year. This has to be the darkest and most bone chilling stamp issued anywhere. It is the Dark Angel of Death. Here is a link to one account of their story.

To complement Hugh's hdm1950 1933 trans-atlantic air disaster of Darius and Girenas, presented very well (with link) in the previous Post, I am adding 4 Lithuania stamps found in my collection These 4 were issued May 18, 1934 and found under Scott C79-C82 Thanks HUGH !
