Hello to all, I am from the European Union, living in the Netherlands. In the 1970s, I started accumulating stamps cut from covers. I, mostly, had 55c wine-red ‘Regina’ stamps of Queen Juliana. On a good day, my father bought me a full set of the cent values from this set. Shortly afterwards, he also bought me the gulden values. This started my stamp collection. In the early 1980s, in London, we bought some of the current British stamp from the philatelic counter at the Trafalgar Square post office. These were mainly Machins. Walking down the Strand, we saw more of these stamps at the ‘Cameo’ stamp shop. I started to build my collection of British (UK) stamps. When the Dutch postal service was privatised, I stopped collecting Dutch stamps and concentrated on my collection of British stamps. I added Guernsey, Jersey, and the Isle of Man to my collection. I stopped collecting these islands a few years ago. As I started to collect British stamps according to the Stanley Gibbons Specialised Catalogue, I got interested in the Irish overprints. That started my Irish collection. Having a strong interest in Spain and its history, I also have a small collection of block of Spanish permanent and some other stamps. Salmantino
