Hi, I've been on other forums for a long time, but new here.
My name is Darren and I live about 60Km north of Melbourne in Victoria, Australia.
My main collecting area is Germany, particularly the town locals or private posts mostly pre 1900. I do have all other areas of Germany but concentrate on pre 1950 material mostly. I also have New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Papua New Guinea and a few others. I have an extensive bird collection with over 14K different stamps.
I look forward to meeting others here and joining in the discussions.

Thank you everyone for the warm welcome. philatelia, I was searching for some information on Israeli JNF and came across the thread from Londonbus1. I believe he was previously on an Australian forum which many would know but appears to have left. I was very active on that forum and have added a lot of information over the years (I joined in 2007) but find the attitude to new members is far from welcoming and at the end of the day I want people that are new, wanting to learn or are coming back to collecting to be greeted with kindness and understanding. I'm a member of 3 stamp clubs in Melbourne and have been president (currently vice president) of one of them. I live in the country so I don't attend meetings at the other clubs as it is a 2 hour drive each way to get to their meetings. It is about 1 hour each way to the one I always attend. I did some reading here and thought this may be a better place to contribute from areas I have knowledge of and to learn from others to expand my knowledge. I have a lot of reference material I have collected over the years and have done quite a bit of research on some area that I collect.
