Moderator Note: This thread was originally titled 1 cent un centavo Quetzal in deep red Guatemala help please, and it appeared in the Need Help with Stamp ID board. Now that the ID question has been answered, it has been moved to the Guatemala board and the title modified to encourage further posts.
Guatemala stamp I thought that this stamp was strange from the time I saw it, and on going through multiple searches on the internet, found reference to a variety of these stamps, but this one in particular was not visible. I thought I would ask my stamp forum friends to help as I feel they are way too knowledgable together. and best let you guys take a look the following link kind of refers to the collection but does not have mention of the stamp in my hand. birdstampsociety.org.uk/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/The-Quintessential-Quetzal-Series_No-1-Quetzalitos.pdfis this possibly a die proof ?
or is it cut out from the following sheet
www.freestampcatalogue.com/sgtpb006-75-years-upu-s-s
because I have the other stamp too and can't find the reference anywhere else on its own. appreciate your help , thank you

Londonbus1 Londonbus1 I'd like to hear that, myself. I am completely stumped, could find nothing anywhere close to the images.
I have searched proofs and reprints, nothing. Hard to believe, really.
In a way it discounts Seebecks, with the inscriptions at the bottom. They look too nice to be "phantasies"
I didn't see anything in Quaker City.Update : "Success from Endeavor" (My old naval motto)
They are Trial Colour proofs, apparently released by "Taller Nacional de Grabados en Acero" (Steel Engraving Plant)

You should download "The Postage Stamps and Postal Stationery of Guatemala" by Michael Bloom available for a free download from the International Society of Guatemala Collectors. www.guatemalastamps.com/ The miniature sheet is detailed on page 697 of 1073 along with samples of die proofs. It's an amazingly detailed catalogue. I think your stamps are cut outs from the miniature sheet as given away by the blue line at the bottom of the stamps. This perfectly matches the line on the miniature sheet.
Your stamp overlaid on the sheet.

Some people like to collect a set of singles as well, whether from from setenant blocks or from souvenir sheets. Minkus was one album maker that would make pages that included spaces for the setenant blocks and the singles on the same page. A couple other album makers would also have spaces for both singles and blocks, but normally on separate pages so you can choose the way you want to collect.
I personally prefer them attached (still attached to the selvedge, of course!), but that's just my preference. It's your collection, enjoy it the way you want to!

Very nicely done overlay! This was my initial thought as well. But then I was puzzled by the vertical line at right of both stamps in the OP. That line doesn't match the S/S in terms of position and also that it intersects at the bottom right corners. So I withheld comment, pending responses on essays/proofs. But I still agree, and think it is from the S/S. After your post, I looked at the OP pic more closely, and the vertical line seems to be slightly different color and drawn in. Why this might have been done...

Exactly why I withheld comment I am having trouble with the paper ! Anil's paper does not look white to me, the problem lies with the images, they have been cropped If we had full pics of the examples, we may have a better idea.
Either way, we have a broader knowledge of possible genesis.
This, for me was a really curly one.

Silly me, that "vertical line" at right is the cut edge! I'm getting older than I look!
