What I collect: Belgium, Greece, Belgian Congo, Ruanda Urundi and postal history of the two world war

Hello, I am a collector from Belgium. (The french part of it, but I speak also dutch) I am collecting stamps for more than 45 years. First I was just accumulating stamps found in the post of my grandfather. But after a short break during adolescence, I started again but this time in a more organized manner. I collect essentially stamps and postal history from Belgium, Greece, Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. For these countries, I keep not only common postage stamp but also tax and fiscal stamps, perfins, postal stationnery, airmail and railway stamps. As I am more and more specialised, I like to find information everywhere. That's why I was interested in this site. I am also a member of a french forum called "le marché du timbre" ( link) where I use the same pseudo Phildug. There I made a lot of exchange with French but also Canadian and North African Collectors. I hope to have the same opportunity within thestampforum. My first langage is french, but I speak also dutch, english and greek. I wrote some short articles for the french philatelic magazine "Timbroscopie" about perfins of Belgium, fake strike stamps of Belgium and about the late use of 7 and 13 dots unilingual cancels. Christian

Welcome aboard!
I love Belgium. Genuinely. Seriously.
Many people sadly overlook it on their European vacations and even the EU nations make fun of it, but it does have a lot going for it, both culturally and historically speaking.
Who doesn't like Tintin & co., BDs heroes on murals, waffles, real beer, real chocolate, real hot chocolates, castles that look like they're from Disney, the sound of the Flemish dialect, pissing statues, Moules-frites (you know what I mean), friterie/frituur, mayonnaise on chips, Poirot, the concept of "laissez-faire" that is better than conflict, their stamps... I could go on but there's something to start on.
But I still don't understand the Atomium. What have I missed about this one?

Catweazle The atomium was made for the 1958 Exhibition. It's a cube supposed to represents an elementary iron crystal. Initialy it was a temporary structure intended to be dismantled after the exhibition! 65 years later it's still there.
