rod222 For your stamp it's impossible to know if it is NIOKI or NIOKA. In 1954, the two post office were open. (NIOKI 1952 - 1960, NIOKA 1944-1960) Thanks for the picture. There is a website (in French) for the specialist of Belgian Congo and Ruanda-Urundi. They have a quiet complete list of the post office in Belgian Congo here congoposte

phildug Hi Christian, Many Thanks for the Postmark link, fabulous! Here is the "HAUTE MER" I have, indeed a PAQUBOT Also, include another part postmark, that looks "out of place" ? the Serifs on the postmark ring, are like nothing I have seen before in the Belgian Congo Maybe you recognise it? I have not researched it as yet Cheers Rod Sc# 147 1931
Below Scan image source : "phildug" Note: slight difference : ALBERTVILLE ends at the "M" in MER Noted : also no DATE within hammer impression. "IJE" part pmk ?

Well that's cool – didn't realise it had featured on so many stamps! Belgian culture might actually make for an interesting exhibit.

rod222 I think you have one cancel from belgian Congo ( 1) and probably a second cancel from the country of destination ( 2). This double circle cancel with "IJE" is not from Congo or from Belgium. Could be Cezch?

Could be Cezch? phildug Thanks Christian, I checked to 1951, I found no example of seriffed postmarks from Czechoslovakia. I won't forget that part postmark, it is quite striking. As a fun pastime, I checked 400,000 worldwide stamps for the text string "IJE" and came up with only 3 OSIJEK Croatia ARMIJE Yugoslavia RIJEKA Fiume Wow wow wow! I DID have it......... Yowser! NETHERLANDS !
Found the original query ....from 2005 that led to the ID from members

rod222 nice detective job to finally identify the origin of the cancel! franoise the cancel on your document come from a belgian military post office in Germany. the BPS 5 (for "Bureau Postal Secondaire") was located in Ossendorf. I serve myself in Werl (BPS 1) until the closure in 1994. Good old time

Yes, indeed, this is time travel, as most Philately is. Lovely cards, (although in this particular card, I find the Elephant tusks, distressing)
Cue here The Beatles, "Bungalow Bill"
