I don't collect perfins (on purpose). I do keep the interesting ones and this one certainly struck my fancy, but I wonder if it is real. Looks like, when held in the upright position, an inverted boot. Tip it over and look at the back and it plainly (to me) is a boot inside a circle. Does anyone know anything about this? Any help would be appreciated. Could be someone just wanted to give him the boot! Thanks as always - Jeff

This is someone playing around. The unevenly shaped perforations suggest manual labour.
From your scan, it is not completely clear if the cancellation exists where the colour has gone, but the device failed to punch through the paper. If it does, it may have been some act of resistance. If not, it was done after the stamp was used.
