Do you keep wishlists or wantlists for the stamps that you are missing? If yes - here’s a question for you - which is your longest list? Shortest?
As to me - well I only collect about 15 countries. The longest list is for used Venezuela after 1985 - tough to find those! After that, my Sweden list is a close second because I am trying to find booklet and coil pairs, too. I also collect both mint and used so that makes for extra long lists.
My shortest lists are countries that only started regularly issuing stamps in the post WWII era such as Faroes, Åland, Greenland.
Also - Which lists are you having the toughest time filling?
So the philatelic “hunt” continues. Let’s hear about your adventures seeking out those elusive treasures.

What I collect: USA, USA Revenues, Beer Related Stamps and Revenues, US State Revenues, Stamp Show Stamps

The only want lists I have currently are for various US stamps. The longest would be US Beer Revenue stamps, next would be of US Revenue stamps and then the early US stamps (that I do not already have).
I started collecting non US stamps after joining this forum and have not created any want lists yet because I do not know what all I have yet, have just been acquiring lots. I try to inventory my stamps before creating want lists and have not started inventorying my non US stamps yet.

What I collect: If I have a catalogue for it, I collect it. And I have many catalogues ....

I have recently started using Colnect and it will be handy for keeping want lists. But I'm progressing very slowly and I keep getting sidetracked by other things, and so far have only made it about 60% of the way through the used portion of my Iceland collection. At this rate it will take me 30 years to finish 15 percent of my worldwide collection - I need to get a move on ... My Colnect want lists (and trade lists, when the day comes for those) are restricted to those stamps with a catalogue value maximum of $5 - more expensive stamps are something I would specifically target and they don't need to be on a want list, nor am I likely to trade for them until I get to the point where I have most of the inexpensive stuff, and I will likely never have most of the inexpensive stuff. The more expensive stamps do go on a list, but it's the "Ignore" list on Colnect - I can still see what I need / don't have, but that way I don't clutter up my main lists with a bunch of stuff I'll likely never see unless I specifically buy that particular stamp. That "Ignore" list is also limited and I don't bother with putting the really expensive stamps on there. For the sake of completion, my Colnect profile page. I should put that on my TSF profile page ... I also keep some spreadsheets for other collections I intend to build up - Albrecht Dürer, Canadiana (for example, worldwide issues for Expo '67, Olympics held in Canada, CAPEX issues, etc.) and "nifty stuff" (issues that strike my fancy for whatever reason, like these two issues from the Math on Stamps thread). I keep an 8-page list in 10 point type that I print out before shows. For my serious collections, the lists are short, and mostly items that are expensive for boring reasons. Those countries are for all practical purposes complete. France, Germany, US, Canada within limits. The longest lists are for countries I started to collect, and kept track of what I do and do not have, but am no longer focusing on. North Borneo and Fiume, I am looking at you here.
Then there are countries like Czechoslovakia, Tunisia, and Ethiopia. When I start to finish what I set out to collect, I add a decade or two. I have no cutoff date for them. Those might be my longest lists.

Let's see, I just got back from a show, so bought a bunch of stamps, but my actual want list counts at present are:
Australia - 283 Australia Antarctic Territory - 37 China - 583 Christmas Island - 44 Norfolk Island - 156 U.S. - 75
There are a couple of others, mostly things that I don't have a complete want list for, so I'm not going to include them.

I have two types of wish lists. The first is based on what my usual dealers have to offer on their web sites, so I can decide what to order next. Items are prioritized according to price, country of origin, and theme, and I play around with them quite a bit. Those are a few hundred items long (with many there I never expect to have enough money to buy). Then I keep another set of want list for France, Monaco, French territories, French colonies, and the USA. The USA is mostly stamps from the post-2000 era, which I haven't gotten around to acquire yet (most are these are thematically uninteresting to me, so I would just need them for completion's sake). The list for New Caledonia, French Polynesia, Wallis and Futuna and Monaco are also a couple of hundred or so long with mostly filler stuff. The most recent list I made was for Portuguese colonies, but I had to stop when it got too long!

Was just digging around through some of my albums tonight and a lot of those things on my want list are just replacing used copies with MNH, since that's really all I collect.

I keep my inventory in Stamp Manage and just use that to identify what I have and not have You can create a want list but it ends up being a separate list. There is also a "needed to complete" feature that will create a printable list of missing issues.
