The 5p has a tooth in the bottom which as far as i can see is folded (or in the worst case short), try to check it, and the 1£ a stain on the right, maybe should be rewashed adding some bleach. About the value please wait for better answer than mine

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

I assume you checked the watermarks to be sure this is the 1955 Castles set. Used complete sets of the 1955 issue on eBay are selling for less than 10.00 Canadian. The catalogue value will be more but what they are actually selling for is reality.

Hi Anil, These can be tricky as there were several issues.
There are two different watermarks, and one issue without watermark , there were also Three different printing companies involved which makes identification difficult. I have difficulty in sorting the first two issues even on fresh mint never hinged, used is very hard, but they are all quite common and not very valuable. Yours have the large rectangular parcel cancel, so not of great value I think there might even be one of the £1 value in the giveaway I am posting tomorrow to Hong Kong
Circular date stamps which would have been used on registered mail are prettier and will get a better value

The first question, therefore, is: what watermark do the stamps have?

I have a bunch of these stamps. got them in a pack I bought a couple of years ago but didn't pay attention to them, but recently got access to Scott catalog. realised they could be valuable. but then also learnt there are many different things that need to be true for them to be valuable. will check for the watermark so that we can figure out value.
