Kenya souvenir sheet from 1983. Commemorating the five-year anniversary of Kenya Ports Authority, two stamps on the left show terminal cranes on a ship prior to being unloaded at the terminal. The top right stamp shows a transtainer or rubber tire gantry crane that is being prepared for service. Bottom left shows the Mombasa harbor map. Scott A45 #238-241  |

The 1986 International Philatelic Exhibition in Johannesburg introduced these commemorative stamps and a souvenir sheet to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of Johannesburg following the discovery of gold in and around Roodepoort. The timber industry of British/French New Hebrides brought forward the issuance of these 1969 Kauri Pine stamps. They came in sheets of nine on a simulated wood grain background. I have the Scott: 132 A14 (British). The Scott 151 A22 (French) has a slightly different spelling for the tree. Couldn't figure out that translation.  |
