Just wondering how you store your stamps while sorting them into country albums. When I was young I was given this old gm parts box. I still use it to sort by countries before placing into albums, and it holds some of the duplicates I am keeping.

The pre-sorting takes place according to country in chocolate boxes. Mon-Cheri boxes fit best (and taste best too). I use these sorting boxes to divide things by year or something similar.

Archive boxes and stock cards for me, roughly sorted into country or region then when I have a few of the same country they will get grouped into sets. Then its into stock books until I decide how to present them!

They usually end up on Varios sorted sorted by country after sorting in piles.

Until I get an area to set up for stamping, we are using the kitchen table. Sorting by countries, then we will sort by date and for perfins/postmarks etc. It is a start, but a fun hobby.

I have a box with half-sheet-sized white envelopes, one for each country. I try to sort by country as quickly as possible and then they go in the envelope till I can work on them.

I try not keep stamps spaced on a desk very long since even a slight breeze can cause them to scatter and fall into crevices.

Thankfully ours were sorted in files, just went through all the files and hanged them as most had foxing on. There is a huge file which says to be sorted and one day hubby and I will get round to it. He keeps all the envelopes and puts them in a drawer.
