What I collect: Girl Guide/Scout World Wide

Hello everyone, New Member here.... I'm Tigi and I live in the south west of the UK. I collected stamps as a child back in the 70's but once I left home I lost interest. About 10 years ago I began collecting used stamps to sell to support a charity venture (I run a Rainbow Guide group and we support a Rainbow group out in the Caribbean Island of Dominica) and as I collected I came across a few Girl Guiding stamps. These caught my interest and I have begun collecting Girl Guide Stamps from around the world since the beginning of this year. I have so far stamps from about 130 different countries, but not necessarily all the Girl Guide ones that each country has produced. So I guess its kinda of a niche interest!!!! I don't collect the scout ones really but have ended up with a few where the country has girl scouts rather than girl guides! So thats basically me and my stamp interests. Would love to talk to anyone else who collects similarly but happy to hear from anyone

Welcome to this friendly group! I did a search on Colnect and found over 400 girl guide issues; colnect.com/en/search/list/collectibles/stamps/q/Girl+guidesThis Tonga issue is cool - the star looks exactly like our year stars in Girl Scouts. Colnect also lists over 9,000 scouting issues - wow! Popular theme! Anyways, Love your topic of interest. I’m not a topical collector but I was a Girl Scout! Here’s my sash…

Thank you, some really interesting reading. I was aware that there were Scout albums/pages but have as yet not come across any Guide ones. To date my collection is in two A5 lever arch files and the stamps are in plastic film pages. I may at some point mount them but currently they are kept safe as each film page is clearly labeled with the country name. I have also created a file on my computer with a separate word doc page for each country that shows photos of the stamps I am aware that exist and indicates if I have those stamps yet, its seems to be helping me avoid duplications!!! Tis all very early days with this collection so I am keen to see what others have done.

Hi Marbles
Nice to meet you. When did you begin collecting? Are you collecting anything in particular?
