A few weeks ago, I received seven MNH stamps that smell of perfume. Does anyone have suggestions on how to get rid of that smell?

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

You could try putting them in a sealed container with an open box of baking soda. Sometimes coffee grounds works to eliminate odours as well.

Many thanks hdm1950! I'll try the baking soda route and will let you know how it turns out.

I have received several lots from an eBay seller that smell strongly of cigarette smoke (they have a disclaimer stating the stamps are from a smoker), I have been spreading the stamps in a box left open and on a top shelf for a few weeks. So far, that has been sufficient to get rid of the smoke smell. But I like the baking soda better, had not thought of that. Even searched the forum for how to get rid of the smoke smell, not much found on that topic.
Good luck, hope that works! Thinking the perfume smell would be preferred to the cigarette smoke smell...

It is scented with Sandalwood I looked at a few online that were deliberately scented. Swiss chocolate stamps come to mind. I imagine sandalwood would have a good smell to it.

Thanks mberry and I'm glad your method of getting rid of cigarette smoke has worked for you. As per the baking soda suggestion from hdm1950 , here's a picture of what I just did. I'm in no hurry so I'll keep it contained for a couple of days. Also, I'll throw away the stamp sheet and replace it with a new one.
