About 4 years ago when I lost my job, on a whim I started a marketplace for collectibles BidCurios.com. Primarily aimed at Indian sellers and collectors, it has in the span of 4 years grown reasonably large with almost 200 sellers and over 110K product listings. Over the years I have added many new categories but collectibles (philately, coins & notes) still remain the best selling products. The site has also managed to get some global reach and we've got orders from Honduras (Honduras, who would have thought!!) to Australia with various countries from all continents in between. Despite the relative success, I lament the fact that somewhere along the way I seem to have lost my hobby and it makes me sad. Partly because I have been totally immersed in the new "startup" (if I may call it that). I also had to initially list my collection up for sale to get the site going. Since then I haven't really been focused on completing the many collection themes I had begun when I was an active collector and it makes me sad. It's mostly been work work work. I miss this forum and I hope some day I will be back to being a "collector". If you want to patronize a relatively new site, do checkout the BidCurios Philately section. Price are in Indian Rupees and you can pay by any international credit/debit card through Stripe or Razorpay payment gateways.

I agree with the quote. On the few times I go to shows at sit at a dealer table, you often hear dealers talking about "big fish" or the "big deal". I wonder if they have their own albums they use for personal collecting.
