I think New Members should be able to view the "Buy, Sell, Trade" section of The Stamp Forum, even if they are not yet allowed to participate.
When I tap on "Buy, Sell, Trade" I get this message: "MEMBERS BUY, SELL AND TRADE: You must have been a member for at least 14 days and have made 50 quality posts to participate".
Fair enough that New Members should prove they have an interest in the Stamp Forum by participating, and aging out for at least 14 days, but don't you think that New Members might get a lift out of viewing what "Old Members" get to participate in, what might be available, and how the "Buy, Sell, Trade" section works - even if they are not allowed to "Buy, Sell, Trade" until they have run the gauntlet?
I saw a thread questioning why New Members failed to complete their qualifications for participation - this may be one reason.
OK, I'm a Newbie, but why not let me have a taste of what I'm missing, even if I won't be able to "Buy, Sell, Trade", yet.

Stamper49 , All members are allowed to view the Buy, Sell and Trade category; however, only those who have met the full membership criteria are able to participate in that area by either creating threads or posting on threads. The category is not visible to Guests or to those members who have not signed in to their accounts.

OK, Admin but, it doesn't work that way, at least with my computer. When I tap on the "Buy, Sell, Trade" at the top of the page I am taken to " thestampforum.boards.net/#category-19 " every time I have tried it, whether I link from the icon on my desktop, or if I turn the computer off, and go through Google to find The Stamp Forum, whenever I get onto the TSF home page, it shows "Welcome Stamper49. Logout" in the upper right corner. And, because it shows me as logged in, there is no apparent way that I can find to "sign/log in". Is it because of cookies? TSF is showing me as logged in, even when I have not logged in each night. Is that why I can't get into "Buy, Sell, Trade"? Suffice it to say, I am not able to look at "Buy, Sell, Trade".

Stamper49 I just clicked on the link that you provided and it takes me to the below portion of the Forum -- if you aren't seeing this then I must assume that the problem is on your end. Are you able to post an image of what you are seeing on your desktop?

Hello Admin OK, color me stupid. I expected to be taken to an inclusive page and not what you have shown above. It didn't occur to me that it was not a straightforward link to all Buy, Sell, Trade items on one page. Sorry for the mix-up on my end. I always hope for intuitive actions, just like new threads, it took me a long time to find out how to create a thread, it was on this same page, when I expected to find it in the header. Old heads, are hard heads.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

One thing you will quickly discover Stamper49 when you view the threads is that there is not a high volume of selling, trading and giving away on the forum. They come in fits and starts with spells where there are none going on. I totally understand the old head’s situation but you are picking up fast. Soon you can take the training wheels off.

Yes, I wonder why that is. Are all the members here just too darn good at hoarding and collecting, or we're not ready to sell and give up pieces of our collection yet? It would be nice to browse some more sale listings. Or am I missing the point? 😆

There are far more giveaways than sales here -- perhaps an indication of the membership's generous nature.
