What I collect: Fishes, Palestine, African Countries
|
Post by Gunnar on Apr 22, 2024 16:37:48 GMT
Hello all, my name is Gunnar, and I'm from the Pacific Coast of the US. I started collecting stamps last spring, and I've fallen in love with it. I like stamps with fishes and stamps from African countries. I have a (ridiculous) goal to collect at least one stamp from every country that has ever existed long enough to produce stamps (overprints and perfins do count). I hope I can answer some questions others have, even with my meager experience, and get help for my own identifications. My own stamps are from old collections family friends have gifted me, eBay "multi-packs", and a few specialties sought out at the last philatelic show in my area or my local collector's shop.

What I collect: My focus is on Wild Mammals on maximum cards. Occasionally, I get or create maximum cards with other animals, or any other topic.

Your challenge , one from each territory , whilst ambitious is not ridiculous. I have a friend here in my club who has had that target for a few years… not yet achieved I guess ….as we still find another he is missing.
While some countries have issued for 150+ years some only lasted months . Good luck.

Welcome to TSF Gunnar ; pull up a chair, there is plenty of room :-) With so many options available for collecting, it is good to have goals or a plan. As time and interest permits, have a look here at what others have shared for their own ' Collecting Goals or Plan' Keep us posted and am looking forward to any updates... Have fun and happy collecting!!

welcome to the forum. Achievable goals methinks! My goal was all British Southern African colonies and subsequent countries. Stellaland was last...I think.
