Hi, LewP here: I'm retired and live in Lincolnshire, England. Main interests are:
1. GB to 2000 + Machins / Datamatrix.
2. Belgium
3. France definitives
4. St Pierre et Miquelon
5. Aden and Cyprus up to British withdrawal.
6. plus assorted other bits, some African countries etc
I arrived here when I was investigating Semeuse Types - just working on that now - having bought the Ashley Lawrence book.

Welcome to TSF, LewP. I'm also a new member. Your "introduction" popped up when I searched "Aden" after seeing an especially attractive set of Aden stamps in one of the approval booklets that I am in the process of going through. The booklets (about 150 of them) have been boxed up since my dad's death in 1957. He was a collector and dealer in Tacoma, Washington USA. I thought the set was particularly pretty, especially the dark green #2 (9 pies). The prices below each stamp (U.S. cents) are what my dad was asking for each stamp in 1957. I'm new at stamps, and maybe you can answer a question concerning these Aden stamps. The paper of the 1937 #1-6 stamps is in each case white, whereas the paper of the 1944 #26 is beige or light tan. Was the latter ever white?

Welcome LewP
May I know which African countries interest you? Although my collection is centered on stamps from Angola, I have some stamps from other countries, particularly those that were former Portuguese colonies (Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, S. Tomé & PrÃncipe, Mozambique)
