I have 2 groups of Great Britain #1? stamps that are each imperf, light dull gum with each group in 5 different and similar colors. Both groups have the position letters "DK" in the bottom corners. 1 group has the circle with 4 rays to the top corners of the squares and the other the letters "V" and "R" in each corner. The use of VR was for official mail as noted on Scott #O1. If any member could enlighten us whether these stamps are proofs/essays/reprints/ etc. it would be greatly appreciated.
The only "info" in doing an on-line search and using my publications was an eBay listing that really didn't describe the item in any detail. I've attached the link to that item below. It's lengthy so hopefully it'll come through.

These are cutouts from Exhibition Souvenirs sold at the 1940 centenary exhibition. They were printed by Waterlow.

They are being maliciously sold on Ebay etc. as essays or reprints but they have little real value.

These are well known productions cut out from special souvenir sheetlets printed in various colours in 1940for the Postage stamp centenary exhibition sold to raise funds for the Red Cross.

The sheetlets had images of London’s Tower Bridge and Houses of Parliament

They are Cinderellas and certainly not “Colour Proofs” Anyone selling them as such is either misguided or fraudulent.

Michael/vikingeck, thanks for the info on the 1940 exhibition special souvenir sheet cutouts. Having been a cinderella collector and having owned these sheetlets in the past my memory can now place these being what they truly are....frauds. Feel sorry for the ebay buyer that recently got duped.

Sadly, eBay buyers are being duped by this scam on a daily basis. Some of the responses I get when I politely inform the sellers are not for this forum.

Ready the lot description shown by rod222 is, at least for me, a dead-giveaway that something is not quite right - 'OG' ;-)
