I am not a fan of writing anything on books but this one is an exception, a Philatelic Congress of India publication India's Bicoloured Four Annas 1854 A Specialised Study of Third Printing that was signed and given to me on the very day of publishing of the book in Kolkata, by the author himself, the very cordial Devkinandan Kanhailal Jatiya, when I was just 19 year old. It is more memorable to me since I got a huge discount on the publication price ₹2750.00. 😁
Jatiya (1930−2000) was President of FIP and FIAP and a signatory of the RDP in 1983. In 2000, India Post issued a souvenir sheet on him on the occassion of FIAP-accredited international philatelic exhibition INDEPEX-ASIANA 2000 in Kolkata.
This is the must-have reference for anyone who is interested in the stones, substones, retouches, plating of the Br. India 1855 4A 3rd Printing issue, the much misidentified and the rarest among Br. India 1854−55 4A bicolored lithogaphs.
