Great idea for a topical collection! One example that comes to mind in the U.S. is the great Depression-era photographer Dorothea Lange, whose work has been featured on two stamps: 3649l, from the Masters of American Photography set issued in 2002, and 3185m, from the Celebrate the Century series.
