Hello, my name is Cye. I'm a retired engineer living in Southern California. Some years ago I went o a buying spree and started collecting mint US sheets. I was buying so many that I was not able to categorize and/or organize. Then around the time when the postage was around 34-37 cents, I could not keep up with all the new releases. Thus my collection has sat dormant for about 20 years. I am now in the process of organizing my collection. It's pretty arduous work. The first thing I'm doing is collecting all the Scott Catalog numbers. In this effort the Harris 2022 US/BNA Postage Stamp Catalog has been my source. I've been pleased with it and ordered the 2024 version. The next step will be to create an Excel spreadsheet. I've looked around and can't find any. I would be nice to have a full catalog so that I can just mark off the ones I have, but that seems pretty unlikely. I think that ideally I would like to sell the the entire collection. I don't think anyone in my family is interested in picking this up and I blanche at the thought of it ending up in an estate sale or, worse yet, a swap meet! So, I've joined this community to come up to speed on what's new, what people are doing and collecting, and more generally, just to learn. Other than spending my time with the stamps I do a lot of recreational mathematics and algorithmic art.

Sounds like you live in my part of the country. There are quite a few stamp groups and monthly shows that go on in this area. I do want to caution you, though, that mint sheets of US stamps from the time that you described can normally only be sold or traded for about 30-50% of face value and will almost exclusively be used for postage. I suggest going to one of the local shows and getting a few quotes before selling. Good luck.
