Hello everyone! Thanks admin for keeping this forum clean and private!
I am a foreigner (i.e. a non-Japanese) living in Tokyo for 10+ years. I collect stamps on what can broadly be called as "tertiary education" in order to get more knowledge on universities worldwide. This certainly echoes my professional background.
What I am ready to do here: reply or comment if I have a clear knowledge on a topic, theme or question. What I am NOT ready to do - get immediately and over-enthusiastically involved in exchange or trade. Please do not steal my time
What I like: the fact that stamps are still being used and cancelled on covers. I especially admire to see commemorative stamps doing their direct job. What I dislike or hate: 1) all social media, maybe except Youtube; 2) greedy postal administrations worldwide printing "rarities for collectors" instead of issuing stamps for postage and circulation.
Cheers!
P.S. I am a poor Japanese reader and speaker. I am not a native English speaker.

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Welcome to the forum. I was doing some searching and at this point it does not appear we have any threads in the topical and thematic area related to education. With your arrival possibly that will change. I am certain there have been many commemorative stamps from around the world featuring universities and colleges.

to TSF! Thanks for the nice introduction. I share your collecting interest about universities and education stamp themes. Maybe an idea for starting a thread?

Welcome to our forum, that is part of social media... As for printing stamps, nobody is forcing stamp collectors to buy anything. Supply & demand. P.T.Barnum had a point, too.
