Is anyone also going to GASS, the Great American Stamp Show this coming weekend in Hartford, CT, US? Is there any sense in a meetup?

Well, I had a productive tour of the tables, filled in some major blanks in my collection, and examined a few of the exhibits. I might have bought more, but discovered a world-class art museum near the convention center. I attended the banquet, but felt like an early anthropologist studying an obscure tribe, examining its rituals and customs.
On the way home, I visited a prisoner, and when I emerged, there had been a huge deluge, and it was a puzzle to solve to find high and dry roads leading to the highway home. I was going to stay with some friends, but the roads and bridges to their home were washed out in a flash flood. Good thing I did not show up early.

Some say looking at stamp collectors is like seeing people in a senior's home. If so why doesn't every seniors home have a stamp club.

I won't be at this show, but the last comments about senior's and stamps got me thinking about this stamp...

The Great American Stamp Show 2024 Palmares list has been released and there were several exhibits that caught my eye including these:
John Barwis Watermarks and Countermarks of the AQ Lettersheets of the Republic of Venice 1608-1797 (92 points)
Chip Gliedman U.S. Postal Counterfeits - The Classic Period to Modern Times, 1895-2004 (92 points)
Norval L. Rasmussen Iceland Stamps Printed by Courvoisier Printers - Color Proofs to Usage 1970-1979 (80 points)
Dr. Edwin J. Andrews Development, Organization and Operation of Argentina's Railroads: 1857-1947 (88 points)
Francis Adams Poland's White Eagle (67 points)
Additionally, the Literature Palmares has some interesting material including handbooks that may be of interest for current collecting ambitions or provide inspiration for something new and can be viewed from the link here, GASS 2024: Literature Palmares
For those that had the chance to see the frames in person, lucky lads and lasses...
Have fun and happy collecting!!

It may be a poor reflection on me but I would not likely appreciate those award winning exhibits.
