I knew it was going to happen eventually.
Before Amos went "subscription" with their catalogs, I purchased a copy of the US section of Volume 1. I think it was the 2015 catalog.
I used to be able to login to Scott Online, view my account and the catalog was there under my purchased items. But now that's completely gone.
I knew it could not last. To give me access to that catalog cost them money every time I did it, because of bandwidth costs. But their paranoia about the catalog being pirated won't allow them to offer an offline copy of the catalog in PDF format, which is much cheaper overall, because you're not connecting back to Amos' servers to view the catalog all the time.
The only thing I am interested in now is the US Specialized catalog. And the physical printed copy costs $99. The one year subscription to that same catalog costs $109.99. And they are claiming that the digital catalog has more images than the print catalog. I guess that makes it worth $10 more?
So, I can pay $110 and have access for a year (still with no offline access) or I can pay $99 and keep it forever. What do you think I am going to pick?
I would love to know the sales figures for their catalog subscriptions. I hope the are at least covering their hosting costs.

I'm still able to access my old purchases from 2015. Are you using the site at books.scottonline.com?
