Amos has what I think it a new product, the Postage Stamp Checklist:
It's a printed checklist, country by country, that lets you check off which stamps you have, and if they're used or unused.
This would have been useful 30-40 years ago. In 2024 this should be a feature of the online catalog subscription and allow you to filter by what you have, what you need or any other filter criteria in a true database of worldwide stamps.
Would anyone use this product?
Still can't believe Amos charges the same price for a 1 year subscription to their stamp catalog as they do for a paper copy you get to keep forever.

It seems like a decent idea but not at that price and yes the digital catalog subscription is way over priced especially when you cannot ever own anything. The ATA sells topic checklists and the cost is based upon the number of stamps in the list.
Mini-topics (checklists with less than 150 items) cost $3. The minimum cost for any checklist is $3.00 each.
Maxi-topics (checklists with more than 3,750 items) cost $75.
I wonder if Colnect could produce such a list and then can choose catalog.

I really like Colnect. But it's just too expensive for me. I'd be willing to pay $5/month for Colnect and limit my access to just stamps. I would prefer to just buy a paper catalog and create my own lists. But, sadly, I'm hostage to catalog numbers. I think it's time to create some databases of catalog numbers for the countries I collect and make my own private "cloud" offering.

I vaguely remember Scott producing small checklist booklets at one time, might have been either the 1980s or 1990s. Small books, could easily fit into a pocket.
A couple years ago I had asked about the availability of one of these for Austria. It's the only country I collect using Scott numbers, primarily because I have a Scott specialty album for Austria which runs through 2008. I might consider picking up the new volume for Austria once it's out. Would save the trouble of updating and printing my wantlist spreadsheet.

I have older copies of the Scott catalogues and I simply highlight the stamps I have - everything else is a want. I'm a worldwide collector and I normally take one volume with me to my club meetings, looking for what I don't have. I know its bulky, but it does the job. For those specializing in topics, a checklist certainly is ideal. Yes, it would be nice if Colnect could produce such a checklist with limited information like Amos does.

There is another way to create lists - purchase Liberty Street's StampManage software. You can export the entire database to Excel (and many other formats) to create country files. It is just a one time purchase. Unlike some other programs, you have complete control of the database after installation - no expiration, etc.

I had one of those for US stamps. It measured about 3 inches by 5 inches, and had a line for each US stamp in Scott number order. Each stamp line had four or five adjacent boxes you could use to denote whether a stamps was mint, used, etc. I just use an Excel spreadsheet now. Using Excel gives me a lot more flexibility. And if I want I can download it to my phone when I go to shows.
