Hi would any members know how to do the above, please?
I was awaiting advice from Mr. Don Denman, prior to , sadly, his passing.
That would be so helpful, in my multiple monographs of Ireland, and 50-60 Bulletins of European philately.
PS: Without purchasing Adobe Acrobat

LibreOffice will read PDFs and it is free! (open source) Runs on all platforms. I am on a Mac, but I know it i also configured for Windows and Linux. Everyonce in a while I'll get a .pdf that must have some odd configuration as it opens 'wonky in Libre... it's still readable...
As to multiple documents at the same time.... this I don't know- I used Adobe for years (corporate license) and was never aware that ith would do 'batch' searches.

Thanks I have used and opened Pdf's for years with Foxit Reader, no problems I found multiple pdf software, but dang! foiled again, will not support my old banger (Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit SP1 ) What I may do, is just copy the pdfs to thumb drive, then search on my Win 11 "Seek fast" link

rod222, Are you wanting to search your computer for PDFs containing a certain word without opening the PDFs, or do you want to search a word across PDFs that are open in your software? EDIT: I gather from the link you included, it's the first. Did you try Adobe Reader? According to their download page, it says it does work on Win 7, but the download page isn't specific as to version of Win 7.

Yes, version 1 would be preferable Postmaster. I can try Adobe, I guess, I was OK to spend $50 for the ability, but the old banger, and software does not like "off line" usage, they want to capture you online .
I found "diskover" 4n6 software, that would entertain win7 32 bit after loading all their garbage, it would not work unless online.

Glad you found a solution. Adobe Reader (note Reader, not Acrobat) is free, and the older versions which don't require a persistent connection are also available for download, should you choose to try them in the future.
