Here is an interesting group of covers featuring blatantly forged stamps from this era. Several of these covers are addressed to Gunther Heyd, a philatelic author and collector of Disaster Mail. The address shown was certainly his correct address. I use the word blatantly since the forgeries are significantly larger than the issued stamps, see the end pictures shown along with a genuine first day cover for the Brothers Grimm stamps from 1959. Does anyone know any more about these stamps? Thanks, Daniel

Thanks, Daniel Had not heard of him prior, Something eerie about this, he appears to be widely published "Disaster Mail" "Balloon Post" "Goethe" etc Yet we do not see any reference in Wiki under his name? I have exhausted my searches ""forgeries" "facsimiles" etc. nothing Am wondering if the forgeries were created by someone else, a colleague for example. No assistance from the provenance of the items? His disaster mail was handled by Harmers, perhaps an email to them for assistance?
