Was going through some of my collection and came across some "errors" that I had forgotten about Whilst I do not actively collect them they make interesting additions to a collection Does anyone actively pursue them? Error to the right This is off a cover and very noticeable

I don't have any, but anytime I have a chat with a non collector they always seem to know about the inverted jenny I have to get my hands on one of the recent issues. This way I can say I own a inverted jenny

I don't have any, but anytime I have a chat with a non collector they always seem to know about the inverted jenny I have to get my hands on one of the recent issues. This way I can say I own a inverted jenny Upon seeing the auction lots that I had packaged up for Ryan, my nine-year old asked, "Is that the Inverted Jenny stamp?"
"Yep," I replied.
She paused for a second and said, "It's one of the new ones, isn't it?"
I resisted the urge to laugh. "Umm, yes. See, this one is a $2 stamp. An original one would be worth many thousands of dollars."
"Oh! You wouldn't use that to mail something, then, would you?"

Legends of the West (Recalled)
The initial printing of the 1994 29c Legends of the West pane of 20 mistakenly depicted the brother of Bill Pickett in the "g" position. The perf. 10.1x10 sheet was recalled and 150,000 panes of the error sheet (Scott 2870) were made available through a drawing. Panes were delivered in the envelope shown below. The pane with the correct image of Bill Pickett, issued October 18, 1994, is Scott 2869. The stamps in the recalled pane have a frameline around the vignettes that is half the width of the frameline on similar stamps in Scott 2869.
The real Bill Pickett (Scott 2869g)

Those light houses are great Steve. They look like they want to be cinderellas! But what I find curious about them is that the white is missing. Normally white isn't an ink colour, instead, they would drop the numbers (in this case) out of the background colour. In every case here the background colour is present, it's as if the colour that should be gone has been added. Does that make sense?

Perhaps it was considered easier to overlay the values in this case.

Anyway, like some above, I do not actively collect these, but have found a couple. This US Revenue has the lower left corner missing from the image. There's a faint impression of what should be there, but no ink. And the 1910 Newfoundland 1¢ King James I from the John Guy issue is missing the upper diagonal stroke from the 'K' in the word King, making it look like a lower case 'h'.

I fired up the scanner to be able to show off some new acquisitions, so while I was at it I scanned a couple of Canadian rarities. First, 716c, the White Queen, alongside the normal issue. Next, 641a. This imperforate margin pair comes from a single known sheet of 50 stamps that missed its turn in the perforator. Ryan

Here's an error that isn't an error in production, something that happens only once in a long while. This is an error in design. The Republic of Congo is an ex-French colony and French remains the official language. Congolese stamps are inscribed "Postes", the French word for "postage". Except for this set! These stamps look like they were printed in Cuba, sharing the same paper type as many other countries who get their stamps printed in Cuba. Somehow, the designer of these wildlife stamps used the Spanish word for "postage" instead of the French word and the stamps in this set are inscribed "Correos". Oops! And because the stamp above features a lion cub, here's a cute cub who likes to play in a pile of leaves. Ryan

The oddity here (In a kind way) is the collector himself, Quintus Ulpius Victorinus decided to bundle his stamps into little parcels. I think this is a passing phase, a tad old fashioned. Curious though.............. Now what do I do with these? Free stamps donated by "Aussie Al" in a big Pandora's box. Quintus Ulpius Victorinus is Roman for "stamp collector" care of Ted's Roman name generator home.golden.net/~eloker/romanname.htm

Rod, not sure what you can do with them but still fairly common to bundle stamps like that.I have seen lot of listing trouting for re-sale to w/w mix makers.I keep a priority box under my stamp table that gives me a place to put all those things that come along with no place to go.Saves hours rather than putting them all in a stockbook.Even those soak offs that seem to accumulate go into the box after their bath. This way all dups are in one spot.

I too have run across these but with thread binding them. The one looks like they used selvage to bundle them together? Weird.

Gotta love when your cleaning up and you come across something you forgot you set aside. Found this tucked in some junk envelopes I was about to chuck in the recycle. I thought it was one of the clearer examples I've come across. Rick

The black text and denomination is notoriously shifted on those QEII definitives as well. They are a pretty interesting little series in terms of varieties. I will post a few of my double cameos and see if I can find some of my bigger shifts in the black text.
Here's a few of my better double cameo shifts. Two on #789 the 12¢ green, and one of #792 the 32¢ blue.

Here's Canada #2011 with what I believe is a double print of the red colouring. There is doubling in the image noticeable around the maple leaf on the Canadian flag, but the whole image appears to have a bit of an extra red shade to my eyes.
Left stamp is a normal copy for comparison, right stamp is the EFO. Notice the blurry appearance of the maple leaf on the right, and the hint of extra red throughout the whole design.

Here's a close-up of the two flags together. Normal on the left, notice the doubling especially on the stem and points of the maple leaf on the right.
