The “Riviera Principality” was a small “Micro Nation” that existed for a short time in the 1990s and its nominal Head of State and Commander in Chief was “His Royal Highness Prince MacDonald“ aka Macky Neame The Principality was located near Blenheim on the top of the South Island of New Zealand and during its short existence issued some banknotes, coins and stamps for use within its borders The below (will have to make a better scan) is one of its Mini sheets and it was one of my first "Cinderella" purchases a few years ago. I have been looking for more items relating to the Principality but have yet to find any They appear to be rather scarce

That is something that brings back memories.
Was there a place in WA that did the same type of thing?
This is a great collecting theme!
Thanks for sharing. kg5

I must have missed the original post of these. Not seen them before, and not listed in any of my Australasian Cinderella Catalogues.

Bas am certainly still enjoying it - it was a great purchase and I must thank you for it again - it is still a "one off" piece in my collection - even since getting it from you have kept my eye out for more but have not seen any - would be more the happy to take any more Riviera items off you

I must have missed the original post of these. Not seen them before, and not listed in any of my Australasian Cinderella Catalogues. If I remember correctly I picked up a couple of these around 2 years ago and huckles took the spare off me. Since then I haven't spotted any, so they are probably as rare as hens teeth. But next week - you never know what might turn up

I have a large Collection of Riviera Principality currency, both in coins and a few in bank notes.

I managed to pick another Riviera mini-sheet yesterday, - so I now have a spare if anyone is looking for one. Condition is VG Someone is currently offering 2 Mini-sheets and 2 coins for $100....... .......so if anyone wants this one and only Riviera m/s (the first one I've seen since Huckles took one off me) let me know - you can steal it from me
