I posted a link the other day about a reference source for Haitian stamps that have been overprinted for fiscal use This morning I started to go through my collections to see what stamps I also have from Haiti Alas I could only find one (shown below) and it is part of my "150th Anniversary of the US Constitution" collection that I am trying to put together Issued 29 August 1938
(SG 334 / Scott C11) The artwork is quite appealing and I will have to get some more stamps from Haiti so that it is not alone

Haiti : Indigenous : Ayiti "Land of the high Mountains" Discovered by the Europeans 12th October 1492. By Men in boats, with no toilets, you hung your bottom over the side, no beds, you slept on the open boards. The Arawaks (native peoples) whom were considered "not civilised" or "developed" harvested cotton, and had sewn and weaved "Hamacas" (We have Hammocks even today) These "civilised" men in boats, repaid these fine discoveries (including tobacco 3 days later) with forced abductions and slavery. President T Augustin Simon Sam, and Coat of Arms 1898-1899 Illustrating every Stamp Collectors Plight... The missing high value.

Thanks to James of "The Stamp Forum", some Free Haitian Stamps, in a random mix of bits 'n pieces, filled some gaps. Note : 50c Olympic stamp here, shows the 1956 Olympics Stadium, Melbourne Australia.

Hi Rodney
The "Apollo Space Missions" stamps are almost identical to the speculative issues of Ecuador.

Hi Rodney The "Apollo Space Missions" stamps are almost identical to the speculative issues of Ecuador. Jerry B Hi Jerry, "almost identical" There's a nice oxymoron Jerry oops. Would De La Rue do that? Havn't had time to compare them as yet. They must have both been issued around the time Stanley Gibbons put the as "insufficient postal usage" or similar. Looks like "Dodgy Enterprises" at work.

Haiti Audubon Birds Advice from the Hornadge / Brian Moore catalogue. Does anybody have any more insight into the Audubon Birds and whether it's worth completing the set? I'm missing 6 out of the total 75 stamps and I think I may have found them for a decent price on ebay (with a couple duplicates to spare)...

rainbowhugz if they appeal to you, go for them, but proceed with open eyes. An internet search will provide abundant information on these items

JeffS - yep I've read lots of stuff about them! And that's why I'm not sure whether I should be putting any money into them. But to be honest, I didn't start this collection. I've just taken it off my Dad and working on what interests me. But since I seem to have 69 of these stamps, I'm sitting on the fence about whether I put a couple dollars (US$) into completing it or if I just leave it as is and save my pennies for something else. I don't really have any intentions to sell this lot for now.

Vanessa ( rainbowhugz), thanks for your post. Please allow me to begin by saying that I have no specific expertise in this area. That said, I would think that if you could complete a set of 75 stamps by buying a small lot on eBay for "a couple of dollars" that it would make sense to complete the set, and then decide what you want to do with it. Incomplete sets of 75 are not often filled out with a small purchase, so it seems like this chance is made for you. It's just my opinion, of course! But since you asked, there it is....

Intermediate to advanced collectors are likely familiar with Burton Sellers and his magnificent Haiti collections. Here is a link to the Haiti Philatelic Society and Sellers' collection on CD. www.haitiphilately.org/publications.html
