Postmaster : Geoff Hildeband ? Very close, Rod. I believe it's George Hildebrand. According to the Ashland County, OH, GenWeb project, he is the first gentleman (from the left) in the middle row below:

Can members advise if US Customs Service labels, are listed in Scott Specialised? I can see customs fee stamps, none other.
Non discriminatory labels, Inspected Baggage &etc.

I believe that the Scott Specialized catalog originally only listed revenue stamps with an actual denomination printed on the stamps. The potato stamps are an obvious exception because they only mention the number of pounds each variety paid the tax for. I don't believe the baggage claim labels or liquor bottle tax stamps indicate the fee on the stamp.

Wow! thanks Froggie, I'll check I do not have that one first, may save you postage. We may have another loss in the mail, I sent (unknown to him) Ryan, a big lot of mint Madagascar stamps looks like they never made it, my first loss via The Stamp Forum. I think we should keep tabs on losses through the mail. What is your collecting area? so we can reciprocate (if we have the stamps)

"Losses in the mail" is the perfect seque for this piece of US postal ephemera -- the dreaded "We Care" notice...this one appears to be a copy of a copy.

Not so fast, Rodney - blame this one on me having a stack of unopened mail. Oops - insert sheepish smiley ... And insert smileyish sheep. Ryan

Chicago World's Fair 1933 Opening of the Fair, by light from a Star, 40 light years away. Arcturus, the brightest star in the Northern Hemisphere, was, in 1933, believed to be 40 Light years from Earth. so, the star was chosen as its light had started its journey at about the time of the previous Chicago world's fair—the World's Columbian Exposition—in 1893. The rays were focused on photoelectric cells in a series of astronomical observatories and then transformed into electrical energy which was transmitted to Chicago. Arcturus (an Orange Giant) has been observed by humans since at least 1100 B.C.

"Kent and Rabenna Stamp Clubs" Steve (in his usual polite manner) has indicated my error it is "Kent and Ravenna Stamps Clubs" The "v" sure looked like a "b" to me, that German Gothic font sometimes confuses Thanks Steve.
