Here are some revenues I found in a recently sorted collection. The excise stamps are almost identical in design to the war tax stamps shown earlier, and the law stamp is also pretty much the same, just with a different king. The postal note stamp has a real odd numeral type, it's as though somebody had anticipated Comic Sans ... Ryan

Some dealers really understand collectors. Bonuses are always appreciated and will probably help the dealer in the long run.

They club beavers, too? From Rod's compendium of useless information : The paper from the punched holes above, are called "didcots" (TSF member Alan L recently posted a Postmark from Didcot under Postmark Calendar) Didcott The word 'didcott' is the name given to the small round circle rejects made by hole punchers (hole punchers being the stationery items used to make holes in paper to allow their insersion into lever arch files). it is beleived that the term has been derived from the english town of Didcot, and its relative proximity to Eaton Public School. Didcot Station (first opened on 12 June 1844) was the preferred lauching point for elicit Etonian outings to London; the activity was referred to 'doing a Didcot' By association, the rail ticket punch reject tags became know as 'Didcots'. Dicots were therefore known to be caused by a hole in a ticket, or a gap in a school dorm room. From this, the term has been used to also mean paper rejects from hole punches. The additional 't' was added to indicate the term being a derivation from the original word- however this is a bone of contention for many, who prefer to use the same spelling for both. I have chosen the more popular spelling to explain. ‘in a fit of exasperated annoyance the holepuncher was launched across the office leaving a trail of didcotts in its wake’ A Bucket of Didcots, are employed by Clowns in the Circus, to simulate water, when they throw it over the kids.

Are you sure my club punches produce didcots and not tridcots? That was truly some useless information. Which I will endeavor to not forget...

Here is a used example (60c) from the 1897 series, slightly different design touches: And a gently used $10 gas inspection, also from an 1897 series:

I have only skimmed the surface so far in my acquisitions...I probably have three to five values of several of the series, and one or two of some others. I'm missing many. I buy 'em when I run across 'em but I don't see them that often, and I don't actively seek them out. You're right, you should get to posting some more.

To follow up on one of Rods postings on the previous page, here are two more embossed cheque stamps - FCH5 & FCH6 in the van Dam catalogue. These were also issued without the little letters under the maple leaves (FCH 3 & 4)

I have 1952 Canadian company cheques with Meter Frankings (Pitney Bowes) 3c The meter design is Postes / Postage.
Do we conclude Meter Frankings could be either Postage or Revenue? How would the accountant, separate the expenditure?

I'm not sure what the answer to Rod's second question of long ago is, but to the first, I say meter franks on cheques can be both postage or revenue in origin. Here are two with both excise and postage meter frankings
