I'm sure I've shown these before, but I'm always happy to repeat myself. I'm sure I've shown these before, but I'm always happy to repeat myself.

Very nice, I've seen a few similar items like these before but never gave them much thought. I'm going to have to go digging through some boxes now and see if I can find any.

Thanks Lokos, I hope you find some to join the party. I have 1000's of little orphan bits of paper, that are looking for their families, I was fortunate to find out about those posted. Whenever I go near the scanner, the others shout "pick me" "pick me!" hoping to be re-united. Here are some more......... (all assistance appreciated)

Here are some more......... (all assistance appreciated) I made a brief snoop through Google for a couple of the labels that made some sense to me. "Wiener Molkerei" is German for "Viennese Dairy", a formerly very large dairy plant in Vienna. The building is now gone, no trace remains. Here's a look at it shortly after a new location was built in 1902. The dairy built a 1:12 scale model of the business and that is currently housed in the Technisches Museum Wien. Time to wash the bottles. And if you really want to get carried away, there's a 16 minute silent film showing dairy production in the late 1920s / early 1930s. What the heck is "Amerikanische Sauermilch", a product they list in the first minute? (Translation - American soured milk.) A Google search of that term brings up a single hit, the page hosting the film! If you're playing the Google trivia game where you try to find a search term that has only a single hit, there you go, an answer has been found. ha ha Ryan

Another one of Rod's letter seals - Jasło is a Polish town, something you can see right away even if (like me) you don't know your geography well enough to figure that one out. The stroke through the "L" points it out as being a Polish place name. It would seem that the Kukulski family was busy in many spheres - they are listed as being involved in radio equipment (the label shows a vacuum tube), "machines" (the label shows what looks to me to be a sewing machine) and a photo studio as well (is that a picture frame surrounding the vacuum tube?). Here are a couple of pages dealing with the Jewish history of Jasło, both of which reference J. Kukulski & Son. kehilalinks.jewishgen.org/krosno/krosnojaslo5oldjaslo.htmkehilalinks.jewishgen.org/krosno/krosnojaslo3.htmRyan

Collectors are so helpful here. Thanks Ryan, now all these bits of paper came from Collectors albums, was this label soaked from a cover one wonders, or how else did it arrive? someone obviously thought it was "collectible" But strange things happened on their wedding night as they lay in their bed. Was that the trees a-rustling? Or the hinges of the gate? Or Ernie's ghostly gold tops a-rattling in their crate? They won't forget Ernie, (Ernieeeeeeeeee) And he drove the fastest milk cart in the west.

Wow! I begin to see more on the Kukulski label, a bicycle wheel, the air valve and spokes !
The picture frame I think is an indoor valve radio antenna ? Little arrows pointing to the Jewish stars

I thought it only fitting that the ID should be attributed to you for your detective work So the image will be on her page I guess. Cheers Rod

Ryan, more thanks from the other Webmaster. Hi Rod, thanks for all the info. Didn't know that. The Kukulski family still lives in Jaslo and I am sure they'd be interested in this. The seal is certainly from before the war. Will try to dig around for more info. Thanks again, Monika

Letter Seals..........One thing leads to another. The webmaster advised the "GALKAR" letter seal also shown in my page is from Poland GALKAR Oils and Grease (also a carmaker?) Here is a montage of the business images internet, and what may be a Galkar car? the "hunchback" (guessing as I cannot read Polish)

Some random ones I pulled from stocksheets, What fabulous scans ! What scanner are you using? Lovely content, "Postmaster" suggested the expanse of these seals is near endless. but they are great to see. I think the first more an exhibition label.

I'm using an Epson Perfection V500 Photo. I've had really good luck over the years with Epson scanners, this is my third I think.
I think you may be right about the first one being a poster stamp instead, wasn't sure so I thought I'd just include it.

Two more letter seals (I think they are, anyway) from Bautzen Germany.

Ok, this one's not a letter seal, but it came with the Bautzens shown above, so I'll share it here too. Looks to be a seal off of a document. Dresden, beautifully embossed, if not a little rusty.

More seals acquired yesterday. Hungarian I believe. The top four, though round, have denominations, so I do wonder if they are actually some other kind of cinderella. Ok, the red seal is Polish. Google translates it as 'for humanitarian purposes Legions Samaritan' (I never said it translated it well!)

This Spanish cover was one of several similar in a binder full of international covers won last weekend. Sent from Palamós in 1909 with young King Alfonso XIII (SC#279) gracing the corner. Also a Hotel Suisse Geneva rubber stamp on the left corner. But when I turned it over, that's when I got nice surprise. A big beautiful red letter seal from Martin Montaner. This one's a keeper! edit - Apparently Señor Montaner invented a method for the improvement of cork stoppers. A man after my own heart! www.google.ch/patents/US768391
