(Rod shakes his head) I spent hours Googling for zilch, I am obviously a dunce at Googling. Next time I'll go straight to the source, you Steve Thanks a bunch. PS: I voted that site in the French "Le Top Site" as it was so fab, (was number 34 from 400) I'll post the link, as a reminder to me, on links to good, and unusual stamp links tiny.cc/d0jj9w

US: Hygrade Stamp packet of Monaco stamps. A tough find in Scott.....Pterois Volitans (searched for Lionfish) Scott have it hidden away as a Scorpionfish. Monaco, Sc473, 20c Brown, Red Brown, Red & Olive, issued 1st June 1960 Franklin D Roosevelt with six fingers: one of my favourite French engravers, Barlangue, got it terribly wrong. Monaco, ScC16 50-cent Violet Airmail Stamp, issued on 15th May 1947 1985 Exhibition Advertising Label: Monaco, Centenary Stamp Exhibition Label, 5th-8th December 1985, Monte Carlo

Another thread with no activity! Here are 3 more souvenir sheets from Monaco that I picked up at Capex '78. A little bit better ROI in this case though. I love these stamps too! Monaco put out some beautiful stamps over the years.

I've shown 4 stamps from this set already at thestampforum.boards.net/post/73274/thread, but this week I received another four: These are issues of the "War orphans" semi-postal set from 1919 overprinted with the date of the wedding of Princess Charlotte and a new value. I now have 8 stamps out of the whole set of 10 values. One of the missing two is still within range, but the highest denominations has a CV in the 5000+ Euro range, so until I win the lottery, I don't see it happening...

700 Years of the House of Grimaldi
Issued on 12th June 1997, this sheet commemorates 700 years of the Grimaldi Dynasty in Monaco. SG Nos 2326-2337. Previously designated Lord, or Lady, of Monaco, they became Prince, or Princess, from 1604 this sheet shows the Princely rulers of Monaco from Honoré II to Rainier III.

FOUR SEASONS OF THE ORANGE S u n k e n D i e P r o o f s
These have been in transit through France's La Poste, and per their tracking were given to the carrier on a certain date, then for 7 weeks shown as in transit. I figured them gone forever.
But today they showed up in a registered envelope franked with only a barcode registration label and 4 postage stamps. All undated, uncancelled. (Any toning in my images are from my junky scanner.)
I have a set in black which I have not previously shown. I've seen odd singles in black plus one additional set in black. This is the first I have encountered in green.
Proofs are signed by the stamp designer and die engraver.
These are for a series of miniature sheets featuring various fruits as they appear in nature in the 4 seasons. The sheets are printed in multi-color, similar to what one would find with a Giori Press. But I have not yet been able to find any printing specs on the sheets.
This is an example of the issued sheet (snagged from the net)

What I collect: I collect world wide up to 1965 with several specialty albums added due to volume of material I have acquired. At this point I am focused on Canada and British America. I am always on the lookout for stamps and covers with postmarks from communities in Queens County, Nova Scotia. I do list various goods including stamps occasionally on eBay as hdm50

Rooting through a box of stuff and found this FDC for a set issued to commemorate FIPEX 1956 in New York City at the New York Coliseum. Nice enough to keep so it will not return to the box. If there is a thread for Philatelic Exhibition items Admin feel free to move this.

hdm1950........Nice cover Hugh and it would look good in an exhibition topic. I did a few searches but only found one for Great Britain although I am sure there is one somewhere ! I will sort something later if one isn't found. Londonbus1

Just received nine lovely Princess Grace stamps issued in 1957 for the birth of Princess Caroline. Born on January 23, 1957, Caroline was the first child of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace. The La Cathedrale stamp was issued the same year. Scott: 391-399 A100 Scott: 408 A30

Filling in one of a few remaining gaps in my classical Monaco collection, and arrived this week, YT#46, 5Fr violet, from the 1920 set of definitive issues: A cracker stamp ! hrdoktorxBeautifully designed, (Typical Mouchon) It has been stated that these stamps are found without name of engraver or designer, (Eugene Mouchon) but as this is only caused by the wearing of the plates it merely deserves passing notice. the motto “Deo Juvante” (with the help of God) was the motto of Lambert Grimaldi, who, in 1458, secured the loyalty of the population of Monaco, Menton and Roquebrune, after a plot. The Lady holding the lozenge shield? (and clutching an Olive Branch) The "wife of" Prince Albert 1 ?
