On youtube is an interesting video on the early (19290's) air mail service created by the U.S. Post Office. It is lengthy (approx. 41 minutes), and being a silent film - and over half of it just showing a bi-wing flying over cities, towns, countryside and mountains - it does get a little boring, so if you skip ahead, I understand. It is, though, an interesting piece of US Americana.

Here is a another on the development of air mail service in the U.S. that was done by the National Postal Museum. It is narrated and captioned and runs just under 5 minutes.

It always amazes me how far technology advanced in the 20th century. Air mail delivery being just one of the changes. My grandfather went from horse and buggy to the moon. He was always flabbergasted by technology and sometimes afraid of it. Great video. Thanks for posting.
