A gentleman at our stamp club was passing these out the other night. A friend of his works at a local post office and they found a pile in a store room. Cold War era Safety Notification Postcard with free postage. In the event of a war and evacuation you would mail these to someone who might care and let them know you were ok, except for that pesky radiation. Dated 1960 (same vintage a yours truly) they look brand new. Considering we never got bombed, nuked or invaded, I guess finding one of these used would be pretty unlikely. Just wish I'd picked up two to display them back to front on a page. C'est la guerre.

Very interesting, James. I often wonder what "treasures" reside in the nooks and crannies of any given post office.
