This thread is the closest I could find for maps on covers without starting a new one.
The cover below is an addition to my small penal philately cover collection. It comes from the California State Prison at Avenal, CA postmarked in 2007. The philatelic connection is the addressee, John Dunn, editor of U.S. Stamp News. The sender must have been a collector.
I am posting it for help in identifying the geographical area of the map that is printed on the cover. Small print on the reverse notes Franklin, Indiana Virginia, is ahead via U.S. 58 and that Suffolk is 3.4 miles in the opposite direction.
I can find Franklin, IN on Google Maps, but no reference to Sufflolk. Is anyone familiar with this area?
[EDIT] Belay the question. I found it on Google. The area is in Virginia, not Indiana.
