I don't mind saying that I'll be 39 this year... I don't mind because the hubby will be 40.

I'll be 49 next month, St Patrick's day to be exact, though I don't feel as old as I am.

I'm 68 pushing 69 and I feel every bit of it. Life's road has been fun but often a rough and rocky one. It's the hills, rocks and bumps that make us stronger though. I too have been collecting longer than many collectors reading this post have been alive. Lets see 68-13 is about 55 years I have had my stamp collection. In fact my Wife just ran across a stamp book that one of my Aunts got me for my 11th Birthday called "The Littlest Outlaw" Perhaps my First Stamp Album. Although it really isn't a "Stamp" album. The stamps are cowboy stamps that follow the story of "The Littlest Outlaw". I do have my first real stamp album though. A Minkus U.S. Stamp Album.

Interesting poll so far. I am 32, been collection for 4 years. In fact the Vancouver Olympics and Alexander Bilodeau's first Olympic gold medal on Canadian soil and the ensuing stamp issue is what triggered my collection.
I've been involved in two clubs and often felt like I have been the youngest member there. Often times it seems I can count the number of guys not yet enjoying their retirement on one hand. It's good to see the under 50 category is holding its own on the poll.

On March 26th, I'll be 70, so I still get to vote in the 60-70 range! Would (could) someone define for me exactly what is an "average" collector?

I'm a youngster by comparison at only 41 years young. With any luck I'll be collecting for a good long time yet!

I just turned 50 last summer, and I have been collecting since I was about 8 or 9 years old.

I'll be turning 39 later this year. Kind of 'wicked' that if life treats me well, I'm not even halfway of my 'collectors lifespan' though I've been collecting for 30 years already.

I'm in the currently under represented 50-60 age group (55 to be exact). Collecting stamps for over 4 decades, but only really paying attention for about 4 weeks. So I'm a "young" collector.

At 73, I'm encouraged that most of you are younger than I. Given the number of white heads I see at stamp shows, I've been worrying about the future of our hobby.
