We decided to have a area for the younger collector. If you have a kid or a parent that has a kid that is interested in stamps this might be a area they could have some fun in. All our members can swap and trade stamps with each other. I sure many of the older members would be more then happy to help you out with a packet of their extra stamps. I know that a message board can be a bit hard to fit in with, so this area will be geared to the younger collector. This area will be strictly monitored.

Ratio411 that's mighty kind of you. One of the most important things we collectors can do is promote the hobby to the younger generation. I know a few collectors that there kids collect.
This could be a place that say mom or dad open a account for their kid and post a few scans of their collection. A little bit of encouraging and the kids will get hooked. Even if its for a short time.
I will be making sure any youth members are who they say.
We could also have a mentor program where a new collector can get a little help from a more advance collector.
Again just ideals I bouncing around.

I have two grandsons who are pretty young and still into video, Wii and PS games whenever they are allowed (they would play 24/7 if allowed....and they are so good at it!) Anyway I am hoping for the day that one or both show some interest in Pap's hobby...with this starter for them:

There are about 10 pages mostly filled with other animals on stamps and an interesting back cover too:

In case you are wondering, I left the extras in for swaps etc.

Alex, interesting. So it's a stockbook but with a cover aimed at youth? What a clever idea! (Or did you create it yourself? -- If so, still a clever idea!)

Yes just a spiral bound (what a great idea! It lies perfectly flat) stock book. I should say that I created it...and earn a number of virtual escudos, but I didn't: I found it second hand at our local salvation Army store. yes it is a good idea and it could be modernized and easily produced in the home. Which is what I will have to do if both grandsons become interested.

I also can send a packet to a young collector.
I love this idea of sharing with kids - OMG ANYTHING to get them away from their phones and videogames. You know what I mean?

I don't really want to get them away from their video games. In today's society i think that videogames have a role to play IMO. I know that when they play they are bouncing and jumping like they were playing some sort of indoor sport, so they must be better than just sitting down watching videos/ TV. But alternative interests are a good thing, especially if they may teach them something about the real, and wonderful world we live in.
