Andrew McGavin for those who don't know him runs a philately shop in London and is well known in the philately circles in the UK, he appeared on tv with £500k of stamps for the audience to see including the 1d blue and discussed a little about the upcoming auction of the 1c magenta in April.
Here is email I received relating to the show from UPA, you may need to register unfortunately to watch, the intro of Mr McGavin starts around 2mins 45 you should be able to push the bar back, need to watch adverts as ITV is financially supported through ads......
Hello Mark, It may be some time since I sent your last Stamp Tips of the Trade. Volume 1 has now been completed and we can mail you a free printed copy if you would like to ask ...
Meanwhile it's not often a Philatelist is invited to appear on national ITV ... you can catch me for the next 15 days till the 28th March so I thought I would share this link with you - which expires within 15 days from the 13th March: www.itv.com/itvplayer/the-alan-titchmarsh-show/27-02-2014
As you will surely have heard by now the World's most famous rare stamp is coming up for auction in June ... so we offered to take £500,000 worth of real stamps to show the live audience ... judge for yourself how nervously I got on ...
I met Frank Bruno before the show - what an incredibly nice guy - a true gent - he was virtually mobbed the moment he walked through the door by people wanting to get photographed on their mobile phone with him - took it all so politely I could not believe ...
I also met another 'celeb' called Myleene Klass who appears on the show - as I don't watch TV I had no idea who she was before the show - unsurprisingly she didn't ask for a picture with me - but asked for a picture of her young daughter who was with her holding the British QV 1d Blue ...
...... yes - you heard right ... a ONE PENNY BLUE ... you won't find it in the SG Concise ... (but it is in their specialised at £185,000 ! ... watch the show - or skip the first 20 minutes to reach me -
(you'll be forced by ITV to watch a few adverts first before you can move the 'slide' along to 20 minutes but then it's free entertainment .........
