Here's a block of labels from a 1965 tool expo in Brussels. The spinning wheel is the cutter from a milling machine, the swarf transformed to Flags of attending nations.

I went to a large show a few years back in Windsor and found a dealer that had just an amazing inventory of all the best weird and wonderful stuff you could imagine. At that time I wasn't really going out of my way to collect Cinderellas other than items for US show/exhibitions but I always did have a love of the oddball type items. I had seen these before, a couple here, a couple there but never noticed any large amounts of them at any one time. In truth though these really didn't have any special interest to me and I had actually been looking. When I saw these what really caught my attention was that they appeared to be an almost complete collection, and I really had no ideal there were this many diff. ones issued, and also that they looked to be on actual pre-printed pages specifically printed for them, something else I hadn't seen before. I guess that's the long version of saying I bought them as an existing collection. I enjoyed them for awhile and still like looking at them when I pull them out every now and then but they still don't really have a spot in my collection.

Thanks Rod
I'm not positive but I think there might actually be more issues than just these. I'm pretty sure I've seen some that are diff. yet again. Not sure if there is an actual list out there somewhere that one could refer to.

More Belgian Exposition labels picked up today. These beautifully embossed and die cut pieces date from 1913. The red one is sadly, slightly damaged.

Those are very nice James. I like the combinations of the die cut and embossing. It amazes me 100 years ago the quality and artistic talent they put into items like this. You never seem to see anything remotely similar nowadays, don't know if you could even find someone with the skills or talent to get something like these reproduced.

The 1913 Exposition [actually a World's Fair] was held in Ghent, Belgium from April 6th to October 31st at the Citadel Park. During the Exposition, the first Belgian Airmails were flown. Here are some more items from the Fair to go with those lovely labels james posted back in April . Londonbus1

I scanned an 1897 Exposition label, and then came here looking for a home for it. Imagine my surprise to see the pages above. Beautiful. I had no idea there were so many. Anyway, here is a sad, lonely example, but I'll include it so that you can see a larger image:

I am guessing this is a post-WW1 label issued by the Belgian Chamber for Commerce in Paris. The printer, Leopold Verger & Co, produced a lot of Posters, Postcards and advertising Cards during and after WW1. Some fetch quite high dollars today. But sadly not this Poster stamp which is inscribed in both French & Flemish ! Londonbus1

This Cinderella was produced for The (International) Universal Exhibition of 1898, in Earl's Court, London. However, the bottom margin tells us that it was produced by the Belgian Section of the exhibition with an address in Brussels. One of, at least, two designs in a couple of colours. You can find the guide book here with more information on the exhibition.

Early XXth century "Huile Imperiale", manufactured in Antwerp. Identified thanks to Cindycan. When I was there, back in August 15th 2012, I remember climbing up to a high tower overlooking the harbour. Perhaps, it's the same depicted on the cinderella...

Exposition de Bruxelles, 1910 was a world's fair held in Brussels from 23rd April to 1st November. Despite having 13 million visitors it still made a loss but this was not uncommon for such expositions. 26 countries participated each with their own pavilion. These poster stamps are 9 of 20 different colours, originally sold as a set for 20 centimes.

A cinderella stamp honouring Edith Cavell,a British nurse who worked in German-occupied Belgium .She was executed in 1915 for helping Allied soldiers escape to the neutral Netherlands. There is a memorial statue in London, close to the National Gallery. Also commemorated on various stamps but as far as I know, there is no British stamp.

Moresnet and Jean-Baptiste Moens Moresnet or Neutral Moresnet was a Belgian–Prussian condominium, that is, ruled jointly, originally by the Netherlands ( and then Belgium after Belgian independence in 1830) and Prussia from 1816 up until 1920 when the Treaty Of Versailles awarded Neutral Moresnet to Belgium. It is known as Kelmis today. Moresnet even issued its own Private Post stamps in 1866 but this isn't one of them. Now, let me now introduce Belgian philatelist Jean-Baptiste Moens recognised as the first stamp dealer for collectors. He was also a philatelic magazine and catalogue publisher. Concerned that Pierre Mahé of the French journal Timbrophile was simply copying Moens' work in his journal without giving due credit. Moens announced this new stamp for Moresnet in a letter dated Aril 1st 1867, using the pseudonym S Neom (Moens backwards). Mahé fell for it and published the story as his own!
