Officials Stamp List, Only. There are 9 Pages of the basic set, There will be lots of "gaps" in the collection, but I show them here so that perhaps newer collectors, can make some sense of the otherwise seemingly involved array. Relatively easy to collect and ID via Scott, but for the vast array of varieties, better to be studied by Gibbons esp for pricing values. A nice preamble can be read here: princelystates.com/ArchivedFeatures/fa-03-01.shtmlCochin (Modern Day Kochi) Cochin Anchal = Cochin Post ON C G S = ON Cochin Government Service.

Every time you show pages from you collection I'm always impressed with how good they look.

I will echo Ricks reply.... presentation is great
But IMHO..... these stamps are butt ugly, I'm not sure what turns me off on these issues, besides the paper, printing and the ugly mugs..... give me a minute to compose my feeling so I can tell you what I really think....
Every time I come across a set of these, someone gets a good deal.

Hahaha Therein lies the barometer of a good forum. The ability to express your opinion without fear of abuse. Yes, I can fully understand these would not be everyone's cuppa , and I cannot tell you exactly why I like them, possibly because Travancore is my favourite collection (next door) Anyhows, you better be prepared, some more Ipacac Syrup is coming.... (another 7 pages of the blighters) Hehehehe.

Personally, I think the accolades belong to Amos Publishing (Scott) and Mr. William Steiner. What a marriage! My collecting enjoyment rose 100% after meeting these two. I cut my teeth on Stanley Gibbons, and spent half my time frustratingly leafing through catalogues. Now I can enjoy my collection, and refer to Gibbons only to determine varieties.

Great pages, great stamps Rod. They are beautiful classics, and nice used copies! I much prefer those over mint.

One gets to know collectors over the years BC is a "used" man, in the philatelic sense. Spurns the mint I have blended the two, mint if I can afford them, and used as privately made pages with headings "Postmarks" downside? tends to make storage more voluminous. IIRC BC has a great collection of NSW "Queen on throne"

Victoria Queen on Throne, LOL. Actually, many of the stamps I collect are "used if I can afford them", as mint are less expensive

Yup, can't put a logical reason to it.... don't like the stamps, but very much appreciate the time and effort expended into making them a collection....

Cochin Officials Last 5 pages This makes up the complete (with gaps) BASIC set with no varieties shown, hope this helps new devotees to the discipline, able to easily ID singletons. If I am fortunate enough to fill some of the gaps, I can update the pages.
