How to post an image that is hosted elsewhere This post does not include instructions for getting an image from your own computer onto the Internet. The image-hosting site you use should have its own instructions for uploading images to that site. Also, you can click on my screengrabs for bigger versions. (Also, I borrowed a couple of Jack’s screengrabs.)Posting an image is essentially a matter of copy and paste, and the purpose of these instructions is to explain what you need to copy and where you then need to paste it. Once you have your image uploaded to an image-hosting site, you need to look for links/codes/addresses of your image. Specifically, you need the link/code/address that is labeled as “BBCode” or “for Forums” or “IMG”. Here are examples of what you would look for on Postimage.org and Photobucket.com: This code is what you need to copy. Now you need to create your post on TSF. When posting here on TSF, I find that it’s easiest to do so in BBCode mode rather than Preview, so click the BBCode tab to make sure it is “on top” of the Preview tab: You will paste the link/code/address of your image within your reply:To see if your post shows up the way you want it to look, click on the Preview tab: If it looks right to you, click the Create Post button. If you need to edit, go back by clicking on the BBCode tab. Be aware that when you do this, your image coding is going to look a little different because Proboards automatically converts it when you toggle between Preview and BBCode: You do NOT need to change the code back to what you had originally pasted.
